Listed Buildings
Do you want to make your listed building more energy efficient? We have a range of advice and resources to help.
This is part of the Green Heritage Homes project, which you can find out more about below.
Listed Building surveys
Our Listed Building surveys are designed to help you understand which energy efficiency measures are most appropriate for your home, and which are most likely to be consented - helping you to submit a Listed Building Consent application with confidence.
As part of the survey, you’ll receive a Home Energy Efficiency Plan from one of our Home Energy experts. You’ll also get Level 0 Pre-Application advice from a Bath and North East Somerset Council Conservation Officer, who will accompany the Home Energy expert around your home and give guidance on which energy measures are most likely to be consented.
In autumn 2025 we will re-launch this service. If you’re interested in having a survey done for your property, you can register below and we’ll let you know when the next phase launches.

Green Heritage Homes
BWCE’s work on listed buildings is part of our Green Heritage Homes project.
We know there are many ways to conserve our beautiful listed homes while also saving energy and protecting our climate. Our Green Heritage Homes project aims to demystify this process by bringing together heritage conservation experts and energy experts to provide advice, events and resources.
Green Heritage Homes is managed by BWCE in partnership with Bath and North East Somerset Council, Bath Preservation Trust, the Centre for Sustainable Energy and People Powered Retrofit. It is part of the Local Energy Advice Demonstrator (LEAD) Programme, grant funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero supported by the South West Net Zero Hub.
